Product Description
FSW (Friction Stir Welding) Brazing is a process used to join two or more pieces of metal together using friction and pressure. It is commonly used for joining aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. A high power aluminum Liquid cold plate is a heat exchanger used to cool electronic components or systems by circulating a liquid coolant through channels or tubes in the plate. The cold plate absorbs heat from the components and transfers it to the coolant, Zipper Fin Heat Sink which is then circulated away from the plate to dissipate the heat. FSW Brazing is a suitable method for joining high power aluminum liquid cold plates because it provides a strong, leak-free joint with excellent thermal conductivity. The process involves rotating a non-consumable tool with a specially designed pin along the joint line between the two pieces of metal. The friction generated by the rotating tool generates heat, softening the metal and allowing it to be joined together. A brazing filler material is then added to the joint, Liquid Cooling Plate which melts and flows into the joint, creating a strong bond.
